MARAUDERS WIN HOME OPENER AGAINST VICTOR VALLEY

Led by two rushing touchdowns from Amir Bankhead, AVC Football bounced back from last week's loss to get their first win of the season 27-10.

The Marauders jumped out to an early 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Amir Bankhead capped off a 4-play, 54 yards drive with a 21-yard touchdown run. Davon Jones then caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Caden Hinton with 18 seconds left in the quarter. 

After giving up a touchdown and a field goal to the Rams in the second quarter, AVC responded with a 6-play, 52-yard drive, resulting in a 41-yard touchdown pass from Brycen Blankenship to Carlos Hill

Bankhead then added a fourth-quarter 1-yard run for his second touchdown of the day. He led the Marauders with 145 rushing yards and two scores. Carlos Hill led in receiving with 2 receptions for 65 yards and a score. Davon Jones added 3 catches and 58 yards to go with his score. Jaylen Oneal added 3 catches for 26 yards, while Xavier Clay rushed 6 times for 34 yards.

Caden Hinton passed for 99 yards and a touchdown going 5-for-8, while Brycen Blankenship went 8-22 with 75 yards and a touchdown.

The Marauders (1-1) will play Mt. San Jacinto (0-1) on the road next Saturday (9/18) before returning home on October 2 to face Citrus.
