LANCASTER - The Marauder men's basketball team erased an 18-point first half deficit and rallied to defeat visiting Citrus College, the only team that has beaten AVC in conference play the past two seasons.

Cory Dollarhide had a career-high 24 points, including knocking down six 3-pointers helping lead the comeback.

AVC trailed 39-21 with less than five minutes remaining in the first half as Citrus (6-7, 0-2) shot a sizzling 57 percent in the first half, however, the Marauders were able to cut into that lead and trailed 50-38 at halftime.

"I was open and my point guards were finding me and they fell for me," Dollarhide said. "But we have to do a much better job starting the game. This just shows what kind of championship caliber team that we are."

AVC (16-1, 2-0) took its first lead of the game with 11:52 remaining in the second half following a 3-pointer by Dollarhide. The Marauders led 76-70, but then Citrus went on an 8-0 run to recapture the lead, 78-76.

The Marauders showed their resiliency and Dollarhide hit two more 3-pointers late in the game which gave AVC the lead for good, 88-86.

Joseph Moorer finished with 13 points and teammate Kenneth Moffett finished with 11. Citrus had all five of its starters finish in double figures.

Following  Wednesday night's victory against Glendale College, AVC head coach John Taylor said that rebounding was a concern for his team. The Marauders were outrebounded 40-29 against Citrus.
