Dan Jackson enters his second year as the assistant coach at AVC for the 2019-2020 season. He joined AVC in August of 2018 as a volunteer assistant. His responsibilities include recruiting, player development, and scouting.
Prior to AVC, Jackson served as an assistant coach for one season at Tusculum University. In Jackson’s lone season, Tusculum set multiple school records while players received conference accolades.
Jackson began his coaching career in the fall of 2013 at Knox College. His responsibilities at Knox included recruiting and assisting in all daily operations. Also, he served as head coach for the junior varsity basketball team and was named the assistant tennis coach for the 2014-2015 season. Jackson taught a Health and Fitness course during his entire time at Knox.
A native of Chicago, IL, Jackson played all four years at Warren Wilson College. In his senior season, he helped guide the Owls toward becoming the USCAA Division II National Champions. A guard for the Owls, Jackson averaged double-figure points throughout his career at Warren Wilson College. Jackson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics & Business at Warren Wilson College in 2013. He received his Master of Arts in Talent Development from Tusculum University in 2018.
