MARAUDER GOLF TEAM SLIPS TO 7th PLACE FINISH AT VENTURA

OXNARD- The topsy turvy season for the Marauder golf team continued as it dropped to its lowest finish of the season in conference play finishing seventh at the River Ridge Golf Club hosted by Ventura College.

Jonathan Hand and Mike Weis were the only two golfers to shoot in the 70s. Both Hand and Weis shot a +6 (78) on the afternoon, however, besides those two, AVC has yet to have a breakout golfer.

"It was a disappointing day on the course. Outside of two players we aren't getting results that we should be at this point in the season. We have next week off so i look for the guys to get some work in," AVC head coach Brad Hazard said. "Jon (Hand) hit the ball solid all round. He gave himself an opportunity to shoot under par with plenty of birdie looks, but he just couldn't get the putts to fall. His short game was the difference between high 70s and breaking par."

Santa Barbara City College's Manny Manzonie and College of the Canyons' Travis Tryce shot the best round of the day, each shooting -4 (68). As expected COC finished first for the third time in four conference matches, followed by Santa Barbara and Ventura College.
