COSTA MESA - It wasn't the Marauder men's track and field's best meet of the season, but it still brought home two first place finishes, Friday afternoon at Orange Coast College.
Alec Franco, who already has one first place victory under his belt in the 3000 meter steeplechase in Bakersfield, also won the same event on Friday finishing with a time of 9:51.21, far better the time time he ran in Bakersfield (10:02.03). Franco defeated the field by nearly eight seconds.
Ryan Alvarez took home the hammer throw title with a toss of 151-10. Kyle Schilling and John Jablonski finished the event that the Marauders dominated with puts of 148-01 and 141-08 finishing third and fifth respectively. Schilling also finished third in the discus (137-00) and fifth in the shot with a put of 43-04.50.
Sprinter Joshua Cummings finished second in both the 200 meters and 400 meters with times of 22.78 and 50.45. Bradley Wiggs, who as been consistent the entire season, finished fourth in the 1500 meter run, crossing the line at 4:08.54.
Cerritos College (204 points) finished first in the men's team title, followed by Orange Coast (161), Cuyamaca (92), Moorpark (75), Santa Monica (74), AVC (67) and Vanguard (43).
