LANCASTER - After dropping two games over the weekend, including one to the state's top team, the Marauder softball team responded and took out its frustration on Moorpark with an easy 8-0 victory over the Raiders in five innings, at Marauder Stadium.

"I thought we hit the ball well and played really good defense," AVC head coach Cindy Vargas said.

The first three hitters for the Marauders were a combined 6-for-9 with five runs scored and two RBI, both coming off the bat of Taylor Roberts. Roberts forgot all about her two losses to Cypress and Bakersfield over the weekend and pitched a two-hit shutout. She also struk out three batters.

Ashley Fiorelli and Katie Weiser each had one hit and two RBI apiece.
