AVC Women's Basketball split their two-game series against the Bakersfield Renegades with a 64-66 overtime home loss, followed by a 55-51 win on the road.
It was Niyah Page leading the way in game one with a 19-point 7-rebound performance. She also added four blocks, three steals, and two assists.
The contest was close throughout, but the Marauders weren't able to get critical stops down the stretch which sent the game into overtime, where the Renegades outscored AVC 12-10 in the extra period.
Jadis Watson recorded a double-double with 11 points and game-high 11 rebounds in the losing effort on Friday. Bailey Cassell scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Kholanee Harris, Nicolette Pesquiera, and Eriona Williams each had six points to round out the scoring for the Marauders. Williams also had a game-high seven assists.
Antelope Valley would find redemption 24 hours later on the road in Bakersfield with a 55-51 win. This time, Jadis Watson led the Marauders (12 points, 12 rebounds) with her second double-double in as many days. She also contributed five assists and five steals.
Niyah Page had an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double in the win with five steals. Bailey Cassell scored 11 points, while Kholanee Harris scored nine points with eight rebounds. Eriona Williams, Nicolette Pesquiera, and Sienna Rodriguez each chipped in four points.
The Marauders (3-4) will take on Allan Hancock (3-3) in a two-game series to close out the season. Game one tips off at 3:00 pm on Thursday at AVC, while game two will be at 3:00 pm on Friday at Allan Hancock.
