LANCASTER - The Marauder women's soccer team is looking for all soccer fans, local high schools, members of the community and those just wishing to support the team to "Pack the Stands" this Friday night against West LA College at Marauder Stadium at 7pm.
AVC has been on a tear and will enter Friday night's contest with a 6-2-1 record.
Look for plenty of scoring by the Marauders as they recently defeated Glendale College, 7-2, behind three goals by Alyssa Sanchez. The Wildcats will bring a 1-6-1 record to Marauder Stadium on Friday looking to rebound from a 2-0 loss to Bakersfield College.
"It is a community event. We would like to bring in family, friends, friends of family and family of friends. Anyone is welcome. We want to bring the entire valley out (on Friday)," AVC's Lindsey McDermott said. "To the program, I feel like giving back to the community is the bare minimum we can do. I would never want to be part of a program that we didn't give back since we are a community college. They come and support us so we need to give back. We want everyone to come out. We do it for the community. Come out and watch us get a 'w' for the sake of the community."
The halftime show will be presented by the Junior Marauder Program, the valley's youth club program that exposes them to the college life and the overall intercollegiate soccer experience.
Admission is free for the game.
