MARAUDER WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUT OUT BY FIRST PLACE CANYONS

VALENCIA - The Marauder women's soccer team lost its showdown with arch-rival College of the Canyons, 2-0, Tuesday evening in a battle for Western State Conference supremacy.

The Marauders (8-3-2, 1-1-1) now trail the Cougars (11-2, 2-0) by one game in the loss column for first place in the East Division. The two teams face each other again on Nov. 3 at Marauder Stadium.

COC put most of the pressure on AVC by out shooting the Marauders 22-7 in the match. Both the Cougars' goals came in the second half from Jennifer Roney and Justine Hoeft at 69:59 and 83:55 respectively.

AVC plays at Citrus College on Friday at 2:30pm.
