Antelope Valley College Baseball delivered a dominant three-game sweep over West LA, overpowering the Wildcats with explosive offense and consistent production throughout the lineup. The Marauders outscored the Wilcats 55-8 across the three games and controlled every phase of the series from first pitch to final out.
The series opened with a lopsided 24–3 home victory, as the Marauders erupted for 16 hits and 21 RBIs, highlighted by Jayden Steinhurst's 7-RBI performance, including a home run, and a Marauder attack that scored in every inning but the 9th. Quentin Starbuck set the tone at the top of the order, reaching base five times and scoring 4 runs, while Drew Watkins and Cody Rollings combined for 7 RBIs. Aidan Morgan struck out four batters across 5 innings, while Teagan Payne and Beau Parisi combined for 4 Ks in relief.
AVC kept the momentum rolling on the road in Game 2 with a 16–1 win, breaking the game open with a seven-run 3rd inning. Starbuck turned in a monster outing, going 4-for-4 with 6 runs scored, while Rollings added 3 hits and 2 RBIs, Steinhurst batted in 3 runs, and Watkins contributed three more hits. The Marauders pounded out 17 hits and drew 11 walks, while the pitching staff limited West LA to just one run on 8 hits as Drew Lueders struck out 9 batters in just over 6 innings of work.
The series concluded back at home with a 15–4 victory, completing the sweep in convincing fashion. Despite West LA collecting 15 hits, AVC capitalized on timely hitting and plate discipline, drawing 9 walks and plating 15 runs. Drew Watkins led the charge with 5 RBIs, while Cody Rollings homered and drove in 3 runs. Quentin Starbuck continued his strong series with 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases, helping fuel a balanced attack that scored in six different innings. Winning pitcher Jacob Maldonado threw 5 innings with 2 strikeouts and 2 earned runs.
The Marauders will look to improve their playoff hopes by winning their final regular-season series against Canyons. The series starts away on 4/21, and includes AVC's last regular-season home game on Thurs. 4/23 at 2 pm.
