Antelope Valley College Men's Basketball picked up a 70-59 home victory over Glendale College. The fourth straight win brings the Marauders to a second-place 5-1 WSC-South record and 12-8 overall.
Amado Coleman made 11 of 12 shots on the day and led all scorers with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Mister Burnside recorded a double-double with 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Ripine Vagaia added 13 points while Trovary Cavil had a game-high 5 assists.
Rahjon Chambers and AJ Duke scored 5 points each as the Marauders shot almost 60% (31-52) from the field, including 5 3-pointers, while holding the Vaqueros to 39% shooting and outrebounding Glendale 32- 27.
Despite losing the turnover battle 19-17, AVC scored more points off turnovers than the Vaqueros, 19 - 11.
Coleman (18.9 pts., 9.3 reb.) and Burnside (17.4 pts., 7.0 reb.) rank inside the top-5 in the Conference in points per game and rebounds per game. Cavil (80) and Burnside (77) are top-5 in assists per game.
The Marauders will next face a 5-14 LA Valley team and College of the Canyons, 13-7, on the road before returning home to battle conference leader Citrus on Feb. 4th at 5:00 pm.
