MARAUDERS CONTINUE TO SWING BETTER AT ALISAL RANCH
Antelope Valley College Men's Golf recorded a season-best team score at Alisal Ranch in Solvang.
Antelope Valley College Men's Golf recorded a season-best team score at Alisal Ranch in Solvang. The Western State Conference #4 competition was hosted by Santa Barbara College.
Although the Marauders fell short of their goal of breaking 320, they posted a 327, led by sophomores Mikey Dubski and Jacob Peters. Dubski, who shot a season-best 78, and Peters, who recorded an 80, continue to set the tone for AVC with their steady play. "Proud of Mikey for his performance. Despite moving in and out of the lineup throughout the season, he has remained positive and confident in his ability. That mindset paid off today as he played smart, kept things simple, and recorded his best score of the year," said head coach Brad Hazard.
"Jacob has been a model of consistency all season. After an unfortunate break off the tee, losing a ball that appeared to be just off the fairway-he showed resilience by staying focused and responding with composure. His ability to move past adversity and execute the next shot led to another solid, respectable round," he added.
Bradley King scored an 84, and Tayden Ramos shot an 85 on the day. While everyone on the roster has shown the ability to score well, Hazard believes his freshmen are still working through the mental adjustments that come with competing at the collegiate level.
Next, the Marauders will compete in the WSC tournament at River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard, hosted by Ventura College on March 23.
