Antelope Valley College Men's Golf recorded a 4th-place finish with a team score of 308 in the sixth Western State Conference tournament of the season.
The Marauders hosted the round at their home course, Rancho Vista Golf Course. AVC finished behind Canyons, Santa Barbara, and Citrus, respectively, while beating out Bakersfield, Ventura, Glendale, and Allan Hancock.
Cody Breuklander led the Marauders with a 73 for a 6th-place finish out of the 48 competitors. Breuklander's top-10 finish included a par-5 eagle on hole 3 and a Birdie on hole 7. He shot a 34 on the front nine and a 39 on the back half.
"It felt very good to perform well at home... as a team, we all held our ground against everyone. There's pressure to perform because this is our home course, but I believe we all did our best, and I'm very proud of everyone," said Breuklander.
Tayden Ramos shot a 75, followed by a 78 by Jacob Peters and an 82 by Bradley King.
"I'm proud of the way our team competed today. While all of our players have shown they can perform well at home, handling the pressure of high expectations during tournament play is a different challenge, and they rose to it," commented head coach Brad Hazard.
"Earning wins over Ventura and Glendale, two of the top teams in our conference, is a significant accomplishment and something worth celebrating. I'm hopeful we can build on this momentum and finish the season strong," he added.
AVC will next compete in WSC #7 at Marshall Canyon Golf Course, hosted by Citrus College.
