Antelope Valley Men's Golf delivered a strong overall performance at Soule Park Golf Course with a team score of 312.
Antelope Valley Men's Golf delivered a strong overall performance at Soule Park Golf Course with a team score of 312. The 4th-place finish couldn't have come at a better time as the team heads into the Western State Conference Finals.
Mikey Dubski and Tayden Ramos led the Marauders as both finished in the top 10, tying for 10th place.
Dubski recorded a 77, his best score of the season, with birdies on holes 9, 11, and 18. "My game felt good, and I loved the condition of the course. I was accurate off the tee box, and my short game kept me in it. It felt good to play my best college tournament and help the team finish 4th," commented Dubski.
Ramos also shot a 77 on the day. His score has positioned him to contend for an individual spot in regional play.
"I struggled early to get in a rhythm but made some good par saves to stay in it. I played solid on the back nine... had a few birdies lip out and again made some really good par saves. My short game felt great and my ball striking is getting better, I just need to find more consistency throughout," said Ramos. "But all in all I feel really good with where my game is heading into conference finals," he added.
Cody Breuklander shot a 78 while Jacob Peters recorded a score of 80 to round out the day for AVC.
"It was great to see Cody bounce back with a solid round. Mikey came through in a big way, while Tayden continues to play consistently.
I'm proud of the way the guys are competing, making smart decisions, and continuing to improve each week. We're excited to see what we can accomplish at league finals.
