A Marauder Men's Soccer battle with Moorpark ended in a 2-2 tie at AVC on Friday. The Raiders got on the board first with the only first-half score at the 6:44 mark. AVC responded with the next two scores in the second half. Victor Jimenez scored a header goal off a throw-in by Casey Ramirez. Jimenez has two goals on the season.
Christian Gomez gave AVC the lead with his second goal of the season at the 72:59 mark. Chris Romero provided the assist. Eight minutes later, Moorpark responded with a goal to even it up at 2-2. The remainder of the match was a defensive battle resulting in the tie. The Marauders totaled 16 shots, 8 on goal. Goalie Bryan Rios Martinez had 3 saves, while Daniel Pantaleon recorded 2.
AVC (3-1-2) will battle Oxnard (4-0-1) next at home on Friday, Sept. 23, at 1:30 pm.
