Marauders Softball pitcher Briana Garrett struck out 11 batters on the way to a perfect game on Saturday against Bakersfield City College. Garrett's rare accomplishment came in game two of the doubleheader as AVC won both games, 15-2, and 2-0. Not a single Renegade was able to get on base as Garrett gave up no hits, no walks, and no errors through seven innings.

Bakersfield came into Saturday's match-up riding a four-game win streak. But AVC was not to be denied as they have been playing some of their best ball lately, winning 6 of their last 8, and now 8 of their last 10.

The Marauders jumped out an early lead in game one and never looked back. They exploded for five runs in the 2nd inning and seven runs in the 4th inning to end the game in the 5th inning.

Isabelle Gomez had a solid defense behind her as she pitched a strong game, giving up only two runs. She also helped her cause by going 1-2 with a walk and 2 RBIs at the plate. Briana Garrett went 3-4 with 3 RBIs, and Camrynn Stanbro went 3-4 with1 RBI. Jessica Munoz went 1-3 with 3 RBIs. Alyssa Tami also went 1-2 with an RBI. AVC's offensive firepower was too much for the Renegades as they cruised to a 15-2 win in game one.

Game two was a defensive battle as both teams threw their best at each other with Brianna Garrett facing off against Kylee Fahy in the circle. AVC broke the scoreless tie in the 3rd inning behind an RBI single from Kaitlyn Cronin and another RBI single from Camrynn Stanbro. Both Cronin and Stanbro finished 1-3. Two runs were all the lead Garrett would need as she would throw 61 strikes in 81 pitches to get the second win and the perfect game.
