Women's Basketball lost a non-conference home game 54-70 against Long Beach City College on Wednesday.
AVC came out on fire, starting with a 10-0 run in the first quarter behind 5 points each from Bailey Cassell and Sara Heier. The Marauders couldn't keep the same offensive intensity for the entire half as they were down 18-37 at the midway point.
They outscored the Vikings in the third period (21-14) but not the fourth (15-19) as the final score resulted in a 16-point loss.
Eriona Williams led AVC with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Bailey Cassell had 16 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals on the day. Jadis Watson had a team-high 14 rebounds with 4 points, while Vanessa Fletes had 10 rebounds and 6 points. Sara Heier finished with 7 points and 7 rebounds.
The Marauders are now 6-3 and will face Pasadena, and Orange Coast on the road this weekend, before returning home to battle Moorpark on December 21 at 1:00 pm.
