HAYDEN HAZARD SHOOTS 83 AS MARAUDERS HOST WSC#4
Hayden Hazard led AVC at Rancho Vista with her lowest score of the season.
Antelope Valley College Women's Golf hosted the Western States Conference Tournament #4 at Rancho Vista Golf Club on Monday. The team posted a score of 419, and was highlighted by Hayden Hazard, who led the way with an impressive 83, her lowest score of the season. Hazard played with confidence and consistency, setting a strong tone for a young Marauder team that continues to show steady progress while gaining valuable experience in a competitive field.
Grace Gelfound followed with a 94. She managed the course well and continues to provide steady contributions in each tournament.
Joelle Hanon recorded a 108. She stayed positive and battled through the round, showing continued growth in her ability to handle challenging conditions.
Alyssa Lara rounded out the scoring with a 134. She continues to gain essential course experience and is putting in the work to improve her scores. Unfortunately, Alayna Hottya did not compete due to an ankle injury, but remains an important part of the lineup as she focuses on recovery.
In the overall standings, College of the Canyons (342) set the pace, followed closely by Allan Hancock College (346), Bakersfield College (350), Santa Barbara City College (354), and Moorpark College (378). Antelope Valley College (419) and Citrus College (444) completed the field.
"Overall, it was encouraging to see the team compete with confidence and take another step forward. Each player's commitment to learning and improvement remains a key strength as the season moves ahead," said head coach Mark Cruz.
Next up for AVC is a trip to San Dimas Golf Course for WSC#5 hosted by Citrus College.
