GELFOUND LEADS MARAUDERS AT RIO BRAVO
Antelope Valley College competed in Western States Conference Tournament #7, hosted by Bakersfield College, and finished with a team score of 481. The event featured competitive play across all schools, and our group continued to gain valuable experience in tournament conditions.
Grace Gelfound led AVC with a score of 99, marking one of her most consistent performances of the season. Her focus and steady play continue to anchor the team.
Hayden Hazard followed with a 101, delivering another solid round and showing her trademark consistency throughout the day. Alyssa Lara posted a 137, continuing to gain confidence and course experience at the conference level.
Alayna Hottya recorded a 144, maintaining a positive attitude and showing improvement in several key areas of her game. Joelle Hanon did not compete in this event.
In the overall team standings, College of the Canyons (346) claimed first place, followed by Moorpark College (355), Santa Barbara City College (363), Bakersfield College (365), Allan Hancock College (385), Citrus College (473), and Antelope Valley College (481).
Despite challenging conditions, the team showed continued determination and growth. "The experience gained in these late-season tournaments will be valuable heading into the final stretch of the season," said head coach Mark Cruz.
