TENNIS LOSES TO GLENDALE ON THE ROAD AND SANTA BARBARA AT HOME

AVC Women's Tennis lost a conference match on the road to Glendale 2-7.

In doubles play, #1 Luna Mendez and Ariana Valiente lost 3-8, #2 Caroline Given and Janaya Medina lost 0-8, and #3 Ryaniah Graves and Isabella Elliott won by default.

In singles play, #1 Mendez lost 1-6,1-6, # 2 Valiente lost 0-6, 0-6, and #3 Given lost 1-6, 0-6. At #4 Medina was tied 4-4 before dropping the first set 4-6, then lost the second 2-6. #5 Graves dropped the first set 1-6, then came back to win the second set 6-3. Graves fell behind in the third set tiebreak and fought off two match points when she was down 6-9, but ultimately lost 8-10. #6 Elliott won by default.

Coach Webb noted, "We've shown incredible growth since the start of the season, and our determination to fight in every match continues to drive us forward. The progress we've made is a testament to the hard work and dedication of each player. As we head towards the conference tournament, I'm excited to see how much further we can push ourselves and elevate our game together."

The Marauders returned home for another conference match, this time falling 1-8 to Santa Barbara City College on Thursday. AVC is now 1-13 overall and 0-8 in conference. Their next match will be on March 10 at College of the Canyons.
