Antelope Valley College Baseball won all three games of their Western State Conference series against LA Mission College. The Marauders were offensively dominant, scoring 58 runs off 62 hits in the series, which included 30-9 and 14-7 wins at home, and a 14-5 road victory.
AVC's potent offense was led by Elias Frainier, who had 10 RBI with 6 hits, including 2 home runs. Jacob Baxter and Drew Watkins each had 8 RBI and 7 hits with 1 homerun apiece.
Connor Baughman had 10 hits, 7 RBI, and a home run, while
Gavin Klennert hit his first home run of the season en route to 6 hits and 6 RBI for the series. Armando Saucedo recorded his second and third home runs of the year and totalled 5 RBI and 5 hits. Jayden Steinhurst and Quentin Starbuck both homered. Starbuck had 5 RBI and 7 hits, and Steinhurst had 4 RBI with 7 hits.
Steinhurst, Frainier, and Watkins share the 3C2A lead for the most RBI in the state at 42.
Defensively, the Marauders committed no errors throughout the series, and were led by Aidan Morgan, who pitched 6 innings with 6 strikeouts in game 1, Camden Clark, who pitched 6 innings with 4 strikeouts in game 2, and Ashton Fitzpatrick, who also pitched 6 innings with 4 strikeouts in the final game.
The series win over LA Mission puts the Marauders at 6-3 and in second place in the Western State-South Conference. Their overall record is 20-7. They will next face the first-place Glendale Vaqueros with the three-game series starting Tuesday, March 31, at 2:00 pm at AVC.
