After scoring a run in the 2nd inning, the Marauders exploded for 9 runs in the 3rd inning. AVC was led offensively by Jordyn Zinn, who went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, and Analise Memory, who went 2-for-3 with 4 RBI. Zinn hit two home runs on the day, and Memory hit one. Zinn has the second most home runs on the team with 6, one behind leader Marley Delgado, who has 7, including two games with multiple home runs.
Kaili York went 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Marley Delgado (2), Jeannette Camarena, Kaylei Victoria, and Kenzie Martinez all recorded hits.
Antelope Valley totaled 12 hits and no errors while limiting the Cougars to 5 hits with 1 error. Hailey Davis (7-2) pitched the shutout, throwing 48 of 79 pitches for strikes and striking out 4.
The Marauders are now 16-6 overall (1-0 in conference) and are ranked 18th in the 3CFCA Coaches' Poll. They'll battle Glendale in another WSC matchup at home on Thursday, 3/12 at 2:00 pm.
