Marauder Women's Basketball picked up a 66-49 home win over the LA Southwest Cougars. AVC led throughout the contest, shooting 35% from the field, while limiting the Cougars to 26.8% shooting.
Ariana Soil scored a game-high 23 points. The Freshman guard from Antelope Valley High School also had 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Keyilla Barnes recorded her first double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Brianna Samarion grabbed a season-high 23 rebounds to go along with 6 points. Mya Colquitt had 9 points, and Malaiyah Paulk scored 4 points before exiting the game with an ankle injury.
Maddie Martin (6), Shaniya Sinclair (2), and Abigail Williams (2) all chipped in points off the bench, while Sinclair also grabbed 7 rebounds. The Marauders held a 57-51 rebounding edge, created 14 turnovers, and finished with 11 steals and 4 blocks.
AVC is now 4-8 on the season and will next take on San Diego City and Moorpark College on the road in the Pasadena City College Crossover Tournament. Their next home game will begin Western State Conference on January 07 against College of the Canyons.
