AVC Women's Volleyball picked up their second conference win and are 11-2 overall after a 3-2 home win over the Bakersfield Renegades.
The Marauders won the first two sets 25-13, 25-13 and dropped the following two sets 13-25 and 23-25 before winning the final set 15-12. AVC displayed a balanced attack with three players recording double-digit kills on the day. Rubi Reyes led with 14 kills. Kalilah Laulile had 13 kills while Morgan Holman had 11. Avery Mattice dished out 42 assists, her second most of the season. She also had 8 digs and 2 aces. Mattice ranks 2nd in the Western State Conference in assists per set with 8.12.
Sara Herrera Quintero had a team-high 12 digs and 4 aces. Alyna Ramirez had 6 digs and 4 aces. Sophia Weatherwax recorded 5 digs and 2 aces while Riley Ewing had 6 kills and a block.
The Marauders will take their 11-2 record (2-1 in conference) on the road to take on Santa Monica and Glendale before returning home to face College of the Canyons on Friday, Oct. 17, at 6:00 pm.
